Electrical Fault Finding & EmergenciesFast response time when you need it the most
We use a 5-way fault finding technique from gathering fault information to testing of rectified electrical equipment. Experienced Poole Electricians follows steps for electrical fault finding, such as;

We will provide you with the full electrical fault-finding circuit diagram where you can view all the home electrical equipment connections. You can check with this wiring diagram, which component of the electric circuit failed. If there are more than one component failed simultaneously, failure might be due to common earthing or with the fuse of power connection point.
Electrical Fault Causes and Detection
At times, electrical fault finding might be tricky. When finding or rectifying electrical faults, the following causes must be kept in mind:
Open circuit
Due to weak insulation of electric cabling, or old wiring at your home/business building, short circuit faults may occur. Short circuits often cause fuses to be tripped or the main circuit breaker to power off the electricity supply for the whole building. To test the short circuit, potential difference across two points need to be checked along with the flow of current.

Dead and Live Continuity Test
We will check your circuit’s continuity in two steps or ways; you can say: dead continuity and live continuity. Dead continuity tests demand the shut-down while performing tests, and beep alarms of multimeter will confirm that circuit is working properly. Live continuity tests need to be performed while Mains are powered ON.

We would recommend not to try these tests on your own with DIY methods. As there is a high risk of electric shock or damage to your operating electrical equipment. You can call Poole electricians to get a Free quote and ask for one of our licensed professionals at your place. They will visit, find, and rectify all electrical faults with suitable equipment without any further damage to your property.
